Billing rights & estimates

Within Health participates in certain health plan networks and may not participate in others. A current list of networks in which Within Health participates is provided below. Your network participation status will also be discussed during the admissions process.

‍Uninsured or Self-Pay Patients

If you do not have health insurance or are choosing not to use your insurance, you have the right to receive a good faith estimate of expected charges before services are scheduled. For full details about this right, including how and when estimates are provided, see the federal notice below. Information about your right to a good faith estimate is available in other languages upon request.

Insured Patients

If Within Health is not in your health plan's network, applicable law may entitle you to a written estimate of your financial responsibility or other disclosures before services begin. Applicable state response timeframes for written estimates are:

  • Colorado residents: within 3 business days of request
  • Indiana residents: within 2 business days of request
  • New York residents: upon request

Within Health complies with all applicable state and federal surprise medical billing and balance billing laws, including the Michigan Surprise Medical Billing law (MCL 333.24501 et seq.) and Washington's Balance Billing Protection Act (RCW 48.49).
